Why the new website?
I did want to make some design changes to the website, and when I started exploring the options I settled on just moving everything to a different provider.
What did it mean for me?
It meant about 30 or so hours of work (!!!) this week, recreating every single page from the previous website and moving content over, while learning a whole new platform with new styles and techniques. Even learned a bit about coding and doing some of those things as well.
The biggest reason for the switch was value. The old platform I used was fairly easy to use, and tailored to Financial Advisors, but it didn’t allow for as much customization as easily as I would like, and it was significantly more expensive.
I am not ashamed to admit that I waited too long, and this change will save me more than four figures a year, for a better product.
How does this translate to how we interact with our clients?
I believe in value. This is the attitude I take with all of our clients too.
I don’t engage in client relationships where I cannot add value well above the fees that I charge.
Through tax savings, mistake avoidance, efficient investing, opportunity capture, etc. I am always looking for more ways to add value for our clients. I will go and find the best technology wherever I can, inside or outside the financial world, and implement whatever provides the most value for you.
I wanted to highlight this change because I want you all to see that I am always looking for more value, trying to find ways to make this to add value for you and for me.
Of course, I would love any feedback you have on the site!
